Chevado, also known as Oats Chivda, is a healthy, savory and sweet snack that’s similar to granola. When you crave something crunchy, it’s perfect!
Oat Chevado (Chivda)
1 cup dry gluten-free oats
1 tsp sunflower oil
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 Tbsp raw sunflower seeds
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp curry
1/2 cup raisins
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
Heat oil in large skillet. Add turmeric, oats and sunflower seeds. Cook 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add remaining ingredients and saute for a minute then mix well.
To make this recipe tri-doshic use a simple puffed rice cereal and two tablespoons of sunflower oil. Add a half teaspoon each of cinnamon and coriander, increase turmeric and sea salt to half teaspoon and add pumpkin seeds as well as more sunflower seeds and raisins.
This will keep for about 2 weeks……..yummy and crunchy!
